    2010 - 01.03

So I’ve been reading all the predictions, projections, and prognostications of our soon to arrive future.  Whether it be the next year or the next decade, I think very few people are aware of what is coming, with a few exceptions like Venessa Miemis.  Check out her post about Social Media.  I’m going to let the cards tell the story today, hopefully I won’t get in the way of their message too much.

On Jan 2, 2010, I drew a set of cards from my OSHO Zen Tarot Deck.  I asked certain questions as I drew them and assigned them to my planetary rocks.  Yes, I have a set of rocks representing the planets.  They used to orbit throughout my home/office at varying distances from the “Sun”.  (Thanks for the cool paperweight Aaron!).  Here are the cards I drew next to their assigned planet.  First the inner solar system:

This reading is about our life on this planet over the next decade.

The first card is the Eight of Fire, next to the Sun. The Sun, is the dominant star of our solar system and provides much light and energy to us as well as ruling the house of romance and family. My focus question was: What will we spend the most time doing this decade?  I can see myself traveling a lot, especially while promoting my company.  I also think a lot of people are going to learn to travel further into their imaginations, as well as physically into the solar system.  I hope you’ll travel with me by reading about my adventures.

The second card is the Ten of Fire, next to Mercury. Mercury, is the planet of communication. The question I asked was: What will our greatest challenge be over the next decade? I think Suppression, in this position, points to what communication is going to lift us out of. Up till now we’ve been suppressed by a one way media, where the rich gatekeepers stop us “crazies” from getting onto the air. Thanks to the Internet we are due to get over this soon.

The third card is Major Arcana(MA) VII, next to Venus. Venus is the planet of emotion and love and financial security.  My question was: What will Love bring to us over the next decade?  Awareness and increased consciousness is a hot topic these days and I look forward to more and more of it as we move forward and it’s only right that Love be the source.

The fourth card is MA XII, next to Earth. You may be familiar with astrology which leaves Earth out in favor of the Moon, and while I can’t discount the moon’s influence as part of this I prefer to refer to Earth. My question was: What will the Earth receive over the next decade? New Vision, hmm, this card comes up for me often in self readings. I got it on the 1st when I drew a single card.  Twice in two days, is a good sign. Since, I seem to be one of the helpers bringing the “New Vision” to reality, this seems too obvious to me, but I appreciate the Universe backing me up. :-)

The fifth card is MA XVIII, next to Mars. Mars represents our aggression and strength. My question was: Where will our greatest strength come from? Past Lives shows our history and our connected spirit. It also shows that it will be a time to truly learn from our past, not just repeat it as we typically do.

Past the asteroid belt we get to the outer system:

The sixth card is MA XVII, next to two-rock Jupiter. Jupiter rules education, religion and philosophy and is said to influence us with Wisdom. My question was what new light will be brought to our thinking? I think Silence says a lot about how we are going to take a step forward in thought over the next decade. There will be a renewal of listening as central to true teaching. After the constant spew of the Information Age it will be a welcome relief to find some of this new calm spreading.

The seventh card is MA XIV, next to Saturn. I have noticed a tendency for most of the cards I draw to come from the MA section even though it only represents 1/3 of the deck or so. Weird no? The question I asked was: How will time work in our favor over the next ten years? Saturn rules over Time and work and I think Integration points to the increase in dignity of the sexes both at work and at home (where the hard work is done).

The eighth card is the Three of Water, next to two-rock Uranus. Since Uranus moves so slowly out beyond Saturn it only changes signs every 7 years and rules over Friendship. The question was: what will Friendship bring us over the next decade? We are about to undergo a huge transformation and because it will not be as violent or scary as revolutions have been in the past, there will be much celebration over the next decade. Especially as Uranus enters its next zodiac sign Aries on Mar 10, 2011. So find your true friends and get ready to party, or I’ll be sad that I got this one wrong. ;-)

Ninth, we have MA V, next to Neptune. Neptune is the planet of hidden friends and enemies. The question was: What hidden forces will be at work during this decade? This card points to a very public period, where the hidden have little influence or effect on the world. So if you have secrets you can’t reveal, prepare to be more insignificant over the next decade. This should create a great wave of trust that will sweep us to great accomplishment.

Tenth and last, the card is the Nine of Rainbows (earth/physical), next to Pluto. Pluto rules in concert with Mars over transformation through regeneration and Death. The question was: What part will death play in renewing our civilization over the next decade? Our time is ripe. The next decade will be a time of death for many of our crazier “traditions”, but they will leave behind the seeds of the next set of silliness which will grow and ripen over the next hundred years or so. Let’s make sure to water the good ones and stamp out the weeds. Proud military traditions are amongst the worst and need to be politely strangled, imho.

Aside from those ten cards there are a couple of noticeable items worthy of mention:
    1) There were no Clouds (air/mind) cards drawn. Which I think points to the fact that the mind is going to become more our tool and less manipulated by subconscious forces. The “richer” we become in material goods the more we seek to quiet our minds with drink, drugs, entertainment, and other distractions. But as time passes these distractions seem more and more empty. When we collectively wake we will use our minds to build wondrous things, the like no TV-enslaved mind would ever imagine.
    2) There were also no Kings, Queens, Knights, or Pages drawn. Again I think this points to the future being blessed with the power of the Major Arcana cards and a few of the people’s cards in the minor arcanna, with a distinct lack of nobility. The current batch of nobility should fear losing their perceived “grip” on power, but at the same time not fear the people, because we will not abandon or execute them this time. We need to work together to create a place of equal dignity for leaders of all castes, even greedy ones.

The Galaxy, my pet rock, also had a card drawn with it. Note: The Galaxy is not the Milky Way, just some random one of the billions of other ones out there.  I picked up The Galaxy and Saturn on the same day, when I went to the beach and I’ve been carrying it with me almost constantly for the past little while. The question was: What do I need to know in order to accomplish my goals over the next decade? The card I drew gave me the clue I need to pown the decade and I’ll share it with you in 10 years time, along with my next decade set.

    Thanks for reading!

Loved this reading! Very subtle but uplifting too. A great combination of astro and tarot (love the rocks, a lovely personal touch).

I noticed the lack of courts and majority Major Arcana cards too. Somehow appropriate, considering the vast scope of the reading.

      Thanks for sharing it!
