the Wizard
For those looking to hire my Java / PL/SQL programming skills my resume is here. I need work by the end of September 2010. I’m willing to relocate, but would love to stay in Victoria and pursue my career with an honest company that makes or supports web products.
So who is the Wizard and why are you titled so?
My name is Scott R Lewis. I’m a 31 year old data architect and first-time startup CEO. I’d like to retire from CEO as soon as I can afford a good one.
The title is kind of a joke, but because I feel swept up in forces bigger than myself, it seems appropriate to brand myself as a multi-talented, “magic” worker. It is highly reflective of my life philosophies and over-active imagination. With some love from friends and family I’ve transformed myself. Seriously, I am trying to build a culture of storytelling for my business and our product. I know I am nothing too special, but this company is and it’s success will stand or fall with many characters.
My character: wizard_71
I hold a vision of peace. I think John Lennon “imagined” it best, so I’ve been designing this product to help accomplish it. It is titled the QuestionCollector, until someone helps me find a better name.
I think my product is worthy of a dancing CEO, so I worked on my boogie. Warning pink princess settings may startle you!
The real me: jazzmann91
I’m good at most things I do. I suck at tennis. I have endurance issues, and am a little scattered. Of course, I am foolishly trying to do everything by myself. I won’t stop working, even though I can’t seem to create much momentum by myself. I have great patience, and confidence. I am excellent at supporting others in personal and professional growth. My friends all say I would make an excellent counselor.
I’m intense. I don’t lie. I don’t know as much as it seems, but I am intelligent. I have found my reason for being on this backwards planet and I am committed to it’s success, even if it takes me 50 years. “My exit strategy is death”
If you like programming and know what hard work can produce, I suggest you consider joining with me. Check out the co-founders page. I am a weirdo introvert who cannot decide who to approach amongst all the amazing people I see out there. I’ve tapped my terribly small network and I need more friends! I would love to chat on twitter or msn.
I draw inspiration from many sources. Music is huge. Many authors and spiritual leaders have also steered me. Most of my friends are artsy or constructive people. My elderly Aunt is one of my biggest inspirations. She isn’t doing too well these days, but she says to me her one reason for sticking around is “to put a smile on people’s faces”. She always makes me smile.
My design principles are to mirror nature, and make it fun.
My business principles are to be honest, and direct.
My marketing principles are to tell a story and infuse it into everything.
PEACE!
